This is truly the queen of the staghorn ferns and quite rare in collections too! On mature plants, the shield leaves are nothing short of stunning, and can be up to six FEET in diameter, with a huge forked 'crest' above. And the lower leaves can be three or more feet long on adult plants as well. MASSIVE!! As with all staghorns, they attach to the bark of living trees in the wild. It can be grown as an outdoor plant in the shade in the southern US, but should be protected from colder weather. Similar to most Nepenthes species. It can be grown in a pot or hanging basket with soil, peat or bark.
