Small, dense tree with a flat top. Characterized by 50mm light green, oval leaves that often turn red in summer.
Bright green flowers grow in grow in 100mm round, bunches from curved horn-spaped buds. Large seed capsules stay on the branches.
The foliage of nearly all species has a strong pungent odor similar to menthol. Well drained soil is preferable.
Trees do very well planted from seed.
Plant seeds in spring or summer keep shaded and water sparingly until 50-60mm high.
